Cash-for-Rent, done differently in Irbid, Jordan by An Huynh

The conversation about hosting and accommodating refugees has shifted more and more towards urban refugees and urban solutions because, frankly, more refugees are in urban areas than camps. Solutions such as the one practiced by the NRC in Irbid could be a good model for fostering host and refugee relationships right from the beginning. I wish I had known about this program when I was in Irbid two years ago!

We have recently opened one of the largest refugee camps in the world but we absolutely must not forget the host community for the sake of both Jordanians and Syrians.
